Bespoke LMS design for large financial firm

The Brief

Squarepoint Capital’s Learning and Development section lived on the corporate intranet, but it had no clear structure. The goal of a bespoke system was to organise everything and design a new self-service webinar registration flow.

I was asked to deliver a set of Figma mockups to help stakeholders picture the finished product and approve the specification.

The Approach

I first reviewed the product requirements to understand how employees and the L&D team would use the portal, putting together a few user journey maps.

I then began researching existing LMS design patterns to understand what worked well in this specific product domain.

The Solution

I designed a consistent, desktop-first experience, meeting the requirements in the specification:

• Videos catalogue with a searchable, filterable grid of thumbnails, titles and descriptions, and an embedded player so users can watch without leaving the page
• Documents library with search, filtering by document type and date, and the choice to download a file or read it in an inline viewer
• Webinars page listing upcoming sessions with title, description, date, time and duration, plus one-click registration and a confirmation state

Outcome

The mock-ups received positive feedback from the Squarepoint stakeholders, giving them a concrete, reviewable picture of the finished product and covering all requirements in the specification.
